Stellar Hayabusa Aegis BMD Watch

Today's watch is a confusing one to research, as it seems that the watch wasn't promoting an anime like I'd originally thought.

The watch itself is a basic 3 hand dial design with a quartz movement. The movement is a PC21J and from the back plate, it seems the watch is made by Sweda in China.

The interesting part is the text on the front which says:
Raytheon
Stellar Hayabusa
Aegis BMD
JETM-2
Lockheed Martin
Along with a logo of a bird of prey breaking a missile.
Researching this text has lead me to believe that the watch is commemorative or promotional for a missile defence system.
The Aegis BMD stands for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defence system which is a US department of defence program to defend against intermediate range ballistic missiles. The system currently uses the Lockheed Martin Aegis missile system with the Raytheon RIM-161 SM3 missile explaining those bits of text too. As this is a missile defence system, that fits with the logo of the bird breaking the missile as well, but I haven't found out exactly what Stellar Hayabusa is (although I think it may be a boat know the Japanese navy with this system).

Most of the links I've found about the missile system were from the mid 2000s (around 06), so I guess the watch is from then too.

So, the watch is pretty normal, but this is the first watch I've found promoting a weapons system!

Bootleg turquoise dial watch

Today's watch is a brand I have seen before, but it's more mysterious than I thought.

The watch is by a brand called bootleg (with a little b on purpose). I've been trying to research the brand, but can't find anything online which I can definitively say is the same brand. The bootleg watch has a distinctive b logo and design for the bootleg text, but I've been unable to find anything like it on the web. I do however have a vague recollection of this brand from when I was a kid, and I thought they made sports gear like trainers.

The design is a 3 hand dial design in a normal style silver metal case. It also has a rotating bezel with a smoother style than normal. The design is completed with a turquoise plastic strap. Inside is a mainly plastic module with the name PC21A, and there is also the text SII. Inside the back plate, there is also two letters printed large in black ink - D G, but I don't know what it means.

Based on my vague childhood recollection, I'd guess that this is a 90s model.

Super Lovers Computer Clock

Happy Valentines day to any of the watch lovers who celebrate that sort of thing (and happy Friday to everyone else). I couldn't resist the occasion myself and have a slightly love related post today.

Today I have chosen another timepiece by Super Lovers. The Super Lovers brand is from the Japanese company Harajuku Super Lovers who are based in Tokyo, Japan. They started in 1988 and sell interesting fashion designs based on London club culture.

My previous posts were on their watches, but today I'm covering a clock. This is the Super Lovers computer clock and is a very small clock for on a desk or shelf (and is only about 4cm high). The clock is shaped like a computer and monitor, with the clock face in the monitor. The monitor can swivel a little like a computer monitor too!

Removing the front of the monitor takes the clock module out, and you then need to remove the back of this, to get to the quartz movement. The module is made by Time Module Inc who are a Hong Kong brand started in 1987 (maybe as a spin off from Seiko). The module number is PC21A and it takes and AG4 battery.

The clock face is a 3 hand dial, or more correctly, two hands and a rotating Super Lovers logo (a heart in a diamond shape). The face features two of the Super Lovers Panda bear mascots, along with the computers trash bin, and the date 1997 (which is when I assume the clock is from).
