Casio SG-100 Solar Watch

It's still sunny here so more opportunity to wear solar watches.

My watch today is probably the most stylish solar LCD watch I have. It is by Casio and called the SG-100.

As a watch, it's very basic. There is only 1 display mode, but this covers time (5 1/2 digits with smaller seconds), date (as 2 digits above the seconds), and day (marker along the top of the LCD).

What makes the watch look different from many other solar watches is the way the solar panel is incorporated into the design. The panel covers the majority of the rectangular face, and the segments on the panel are made into a design feature (matching with the strap). The solar panel is also larger than the LCD, which is not really necessary, but it may have allowed the capacitor to be made smaller (as the watch is really thin - not much thicker than the Pela Film watches).

It was released in 1993, but judging by the lack of references online, it seems to be pretty rare. The module powering the watch is a Casio 624, and the watch is Japan made. The strap has a part number of B-769L.
