Pez Watch and Candy Dispenser

Today I'm blogging another watch that is still sealed in it's original packaging, and this also contains food..
The watch is both a watch and a Pez dispenser. Pez candy has always been associated with themed dispensers with all manner of cartoon characters. They also released other items such as necklaces, bracelets, key chains, and teddy bears, as well as watches such as this.

It was released in 1995, by Malibu Fun Stuffed (from Agoura Hills, California), licenced by Pez Candy, and made in China. The watch module is a basic LCD with 4 characters and time, date, and seconds modes.
The watch also is a sweet dispenser and can store 6 Pez candies. To fill the watch, the front rotates open, and sweets are dispensed out of the left side of the watch using the little lever on the right side.

The watch has an item number of on the box #20001. It seems to have been aimed for Europe as the packaging is in both English and French.

Roberta Scarpa Automatic with Retrograde Seconds Hands RS6029

Roberta Scarpa is an artisan and fashion designer from Venice (born in La Serenissima). Started in 1981 with her husband, she launched her first collection under her own name in 1996. Her designs take inspiration from details of Venetian history, and she presents her collections through Milano Moda Donna, and won designer of the year in 2005 at Miami Fashion Week.
The watch has the highest original list price of any of my watches (63,000 yen), but is often seen at highly discounted prices - so I didn't spend very much ;-).
The watch itself is a 3-hand dial watch with an automatic mechanical movement. It has a dual time function with a small dial near the 12 o'clock position able to show an alternative time - when the crown is pulled out, turning anticlockwise, changes both dials together, while clockwise only changes the small dial. On the face are also 3 other dials, but these are retrograde (or jump-back) dials for the seconds. Each one covers 20 seconds, and then jumps back to the start as the next dial begins to move.
The model number is RS6029, and the movement may be made by Citizen (as I got a Citizen guarantee card in the box, but this being second-hand, I'm not 100 % certain).

Car and Driver Chequered Flag AVBF005

Today's watch has a strange brand name - Car and Driver (or sometimes C and D). It seems that the watches are made by Seiko based on the module type.

The watch is a 3-hand dial in a rounded rectangular case. The main dial also has 2 small dials to show the day (left) and date (right). The design is covered in stripes of black and white chequered pattern giving a very automotive theme.

It has a model number of V336-5A10. I think it comes from 1997, but it could be late 00s. There is also a part number on the strap FDV0AB 24.

Super Lovers Triple Fatboys LCD dial and Compass watch

In my collection, I've ended up with quite a few watches from the Harajuku Super Lovers brand which is based in Tokyo. The Super Lovers brand was founded in 1988 and mainly aims at the fashionable Harajuku girls and they have made a few watches over the years.

This watch appears to be called XXXL Triple Fatboys judging by the printing on the face. To show the time it uses an LCD dial where the hour, minute, and second hand are segments on the LCD. Each 60th has two sections, with the minute and second hand using both sections, and the hour hand using only the middle segment. This means that the LCD display has 120 segments! To set the watch, it looks like you use a crown, however this is actually a button which, when held, moves the time forward.

Under the display, there is also a compass. Unusually, this is a magnetic compass with a spinning pointer.

No information is shown on the watch about date or model number, but a sticker on the back says it was made in China.

Casio Alti-Thermo ALT-6000

Today's watch is another Casio designed for the outdoors, but not a G-Shock!

This one is one of the Twin Sensor Alt-Thermo watches called the ALT-6000. It came out in 1991, and has a look that is very similar to the G-Shock designs.

The watch has two displays, a normal 2-line LCD display (each line with 6 digits), and a green backed dot matrix LCD display.

It uses a 950 module to run the watch which has alarm and stopwatch functions as well as the sensor functions. Sensor-wise it has both a barometer based altimeter and a temperature sensor. The altimeter should be calibrated (by using the adjust button when in the height mode) for a known height before each trip but is quite accurate after that. The dot matrix shows a little graph of your height change while you use this. Up to 50 data points of height and temperature can be stored too.

Casio Baby-G White BG-1206-5

I thought I should never start collecting the Casio G-Shock and Baby-G, but it seems that I failed...

Today's watch is a Baby-G by Casio. The Baby-G range are a set of smaller G-Shock watches which are aimed at women (but are often good for both men and women).

This watch is a model BG-1206-5, which was released November 2006 and is part of a series referred to as "New colour variations". It features a round face with a mirrored LCD display. Time is shown on a 6 digit standard display, with a small dot matrix display at the top for the date (but also shows one of a range of animated animals either randomly or when the el-backlight is activated). The strap is matched with the head, and has a part number of 679 EJ2 >PUR<

The watch uses a 2950 module, and has time, date, alarms, stopwatch, timer, world time (including average monthly temperature highs and lows for 30 cities), and code memo (up to 40 records of up to 7 digits).

It has the same shock resistance as the G-Shocks, is 10 bar water resistant, and should last 3 years on its CR1620 battery.

Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) Pikachu LCD Watch

Today is a Japanese children's watch. I can tell it is meant for the Japanese market as it uses Pocket Monsters rather than Pokémon.
The front of the watch is a spring loaded lid which has a 3D running / dancing Pikachu on. Under the lid is a basic LCD module with time date and seconds. There is also text in Japanese under the lid, but I don't know what that means. Thanks back of the watch shows it is copyright Nintendo, followed by a series of letters: CR-GF-TX-SP-JK. These are something to do with the copyright rather than a watch code as the same letters feature on other non-watch Nintendo products. It also has Japanese text around the edge of the back plate.
