Inazuma Eleven - Toramaru/Hooks

Today is the fourth (and currently final) of the watches from the anime series Inazuma 11.

Inazuma 11 is an anime and manga series, along with a couple of console games (3 for Nintendo DS, and one for Wii). It follows the story of a soccer mad boy called Mamoru Endō /Mark Evans and the Inazuma 11 team he builds back up.

As with the others, this is one of a series of LCD watches produced by Sega and made in China as a prize from a Sega toy machine. The watches were released towards the end of the series (based on the characters used), which had lasted for 127 episodes.

It has a basic 4 digit LCD module which is in a thin strip across the wide strap.

Again, I need to put in spoilers in order to talk about the character.

This one is based on the character Utsunomiya Toramaru (or Austin Hooks) who was a forward playing at number 11. He started as a very shy first year who transferred to Raimon to join the team, and also helped his mother run her restaurant. He is a great fan of Gōenji/Blaze, and has a few major shots of his own.

Evangelion NERV LED watch

You may have guessed from some of my posts that I like quite a few Anime series, and have many watches that are promotional items from those series.

Today's watch is a promotional watch for the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion (or Shin Seiki Evangerion). It is an LED watch in the style of the computer displays from the series, with a 4 digit large block LED display. At the top of the watch, it shows as being for the organization NERV. In the series, NERV is a group controlled by the United Nations that was formed to combat the threat from the Angels, and they were responsible for creating the Evangelion units (Evas). The other text on the front is in Japanese, so I'm not sure what it is about, so if any readers can translate, that'd be great!

The watch has 4 buttons, with one getting the time to show, and another setting it in adjust mode (which only works when the display is on). The other two only make the display show 88:88, and I haven't worked out the purpose of those yet.

The back doesn't show much apart from it being copyright of Sega and made in China. A little research says this came out in 2011 as a prize (probably from a UFO machine), and is one of at least 3 designs.

Today is the 3rd of my watches from one of the anime series I watch.

The watch is from Inazuma 11, which is a series (anime, manga, and games for Wii and DS). It follows the exploits of a football team called the Inazuma Eleven and it's enigmatic captain Mamoru Endō / Mark Evans. The series ran from 2008 to 2011 and had 127 episodes, and has 3 Nintendo DS and one Nintendo Wii game.

A series of watches were released (towards the end of the running period), each featuring a character from the team on a wide strap. The watch part has a simple LCD module along a narrow band. The module just has time, date, and seconds, and the buttons are on the back.

The watch was made in China, and produced by Sega. It appears to have been made to be a prize in a Sega machine. Copyright is by Level-5.

To tell about the featured character reveals something about the story from the later series, so I've made this spoiler warning.

The character is called Seiya Tobitaka or Archer Hawkins (depending on whether you watch the Japanese or translated version). He is a defender in the team who joins to be part of the Inazuma Japan team which was formed to compete in the Football Frontier International. He was originally a gang member who was invited to join the team by coach Hibiki. His technique is called Shinkuuma (hollow demon), which he uses to slow down or stop shots.

Inazuma Eleven - Gōenji/Blaze version

Today I'm posting a watch from a series I've blogged before.
Inazuma 11 is an anime, manga, and computer game (DS and now Wii) following the escapades of the football team called the Inazuma Eleven. The team is lead by the team captain and goalkeeper Mamoru Endō / Mark Evans (depending on whether you know the English or Japanese versions). The anime has gone through multiple series from 2008 to 2011. I've been watching a couple of the anime series so far, and am also enjoying the DS game.
Today's watch is based on the star striker Shuya Gōenji / Axel Blaze. He is known for his powerful shot called Fire Tornado (and more, but that would give spoilers for later series), as well as his combination plays with his other teammates.
The watch is a simple LCD watch on a wide strap. It is produced by Sega and seems to have been made to be a prize from an arcade. It has only time, date, and seconds, and takes a LR621 battery.

As well as watches, I quite like games and Anime, and so this watch captures something from all those things.

Inazuma 11 is an anime about a young boy's efforts to make his team the best there is. As this is an Anime, there is more than just football, with good vs evil, and special moves (such as God Hand) thrown in the mix! The character on the watch is Mark Evans, who is the main character, and the teams goalie. He is also the grandson of a famous footballer, who he finds more about as the series progresses. The anime has also been made into a football rpg for the Nintendo DS.

The watch is mainly strap, with only a small 1cm wide strip which is actually the watch. It is a very basic LCD module, with only time, date, and seconds. It is made for Sega, and is copyright of Level-5 (who I think made the anime)
