Citizen Independent Girl painted face watch

I was having trouble finding a name to describe today's watch, as I have with a few others from this range.

The watch is part of the Citizen Independent Girl range, which was part of the Independent line of watches that was released in 2007 and aimed at fashionable young persons. The Independent Girl watches were aimed at women, but as you may have noticed from my blog, many are large enough to be unisex.

This model uses the 1036 quartz module that is used by quite a few different watches in this range. It is a 3 hand dial design with a crown at the 3 o'clock position. It has a basic round face, but this is covered in raised lines (looking like I N I), with a painted style of writing (saying Independent) between them.

The full model number is 1036-003140-2, and it sold for 18,000 yen (+tax). I don't know when this was released, the serial number suggests 2000, but I know it is not sold by Citizen anymore. The catalogue number was ILA21-6132.

Citizen Independent Girl - ILA21-6041

In my collection, I've bought many watches that looked interesting, and a few of them turn out to be ladies watches. That's why the arm in the photo isn't so hairy today ;-)

One set that I've got a few of is the Independent Girl range by Citizen. These are part of the updated Citizen Independent range that came out in the late 2000s with cool watches for fashion conscious 20-somethings.

The Independent Girl range has many different designs, but with a lot of design features to give a quite a sparkly look.

This one is a square watch with a 3-hand dial based on a 1036 module. It has a angular cut glass face which catches the light. In the bottom right, there is a Swarovski crystal inset into the case.

One site I've found stated that this was a 2011 release as a limited edition Valentine's Day model, but it was actually made and released in 2008. The original sale price was 25,000 yen.

The full model number is 1036-002871-01, and the catalogue number is ILA21-6041.

Citizen Independent - 1036 movement, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Today's watch is a special edition for a film release.
The watch is one of the Citizen Independent range (the new range, not the 1481010s).
It was released to commemorate the Japanese release of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie in 2011.
The watch is a basic 3 hand dial movement (1036), but has an angled crystal causing the faces to shine differently when moved.
The full model number is 1036-003247-03
