Blue LED watch

Today's post may be the shortest one on my blog so far.

The reason is that there is no information on the watch at all, neither on the face or the back. This means I have no idea on the maker or the date (but I think it is pretty new).

It has a rectangular case with a round coloured window in the middle (with the sides cut off). It has a 4 digit blue LED which lights on the press of the top right button, and further presses show the date and then seconds. One of the other buttons (bottom right) is for time setting, while the bottom left button lights all of the LED segments. There is a 4th button, but that does nothing.

KG0737 Ana-Digi watch

Today's watch is a bigger mystery than most so this may end up as a shorter post than I normally manage.

The watch is an ana-digi design with a 3 hand dial and 2 LCD windows. It has a horizontal layout with the dual to the left and LCD to the right in a rectangular face. The case is a little more square than the face and connects with the matched black metal strap. The analogue part is a 3 hand dial and has its own crown for operating. The LCD is an inverse arrangement with the top window showing time (6 digits), while the lower window is for day and date. In the LCD display there are two other modes which are alarm and stopwatch.

The back states the watch is water resistant and made of stainless steel. It also contains the only hint to the origin with a model number, KG0737. Searching for this gives only a few hits and the closest match is from a couple of Korean watch sales sites. These link it to a model/brand called Tigerfox which has an almost identical looking model, however that one has the name Tigerfox written on the strap and back too. This made me think that my version was a cheap copy, but as the price for a new Tigerfox is only $36 then I don't know why anyone would try to make a cheap version. Instead, I think that this design is more likely a relatively generic one which is sold under many names, as I've also seen similar designs without any make or model number.

Comet Trail watch

It's going to be a quick blog post today. This watch is one that has no information, but I thought it looked interesting, and so wanted to blog it (as interesting, unusual, and retro are the main themes for my collection).

The watch is a cheap model which is the type that are mass produced and sold online for very little money. The build feels cheap with a thin light strap, and a build quality which is sometimes lacking.

It was the design that made me interested in the watch though. Time is told through 3 rotating discs. The centre disc has two coloured rectangles and is the seconds display. The hour and minute discs show the time through little windows to the numbers below, and are printed with an ever decreasing line of circles, which makes me think of a comet and it's tail. Reading the numbers through the windows is reasonably easy. The minutes have numbers every 5 in the smaller inner circle, but the hours are more tricky as around 1/2 past, the window is between numbers, and you have to rely on where the window is (as it is laid out the same as a normal watch with hands).

I think it is a modern watch which, can probably be found for sale still.

Green Invisible LED Watch

I've been over in the US for the last week, and so I thought I'd buy a watch over there as a momento of the trip. Today's watch is that one, and u thought it was unusual enough to fit in with the rest.

At first glance, this watch just looks like a green silicone band with a wider section on top of your wrist. Further examination reveals there are no visible buttons around the case, and the back is a bare light grey square.

The secret is that the button is on the front and hidden under the silicone cover. The button is in the middle at the bottom of the case, and if you miss that spot then nothing happens.

Pressing the button lights the 3 1/2digit LED display which shines through the case (unless the light where you are is too bright). The LED display starts with an animation lighting all of the LEDs (as 18:88) before showing the time. Further presses cycle through time, date, and seconds.

There is only 1 button, so setting involves holding down the button until the display flashes. Short presses then change the digit, and a long press moves on to the next one.

The watch label has the model code FAS-SQ-TCH, and calls it the "invisible LED - green". There is also the number 102409, on the label, but I don't know what that signifies.

The original rrp is $49, but you should be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.

Dual Power Bug Scare watch

This watch is one I thought useful while going out for a walk in case there were bugs about.

The watch has another use as well as showing the time - it has a built-in bug scarer. When the start button is triggered, the scaring is switched on, and the watch emits a very high pitched noise. The noise is of a pitch which is meant to scare away insects such as midges and mosquitoes.

Apart from the bug scare, the watch is a basic LCD, with dual time and alarm. It also has an el-backlight with the same button as the date.

Style-wise, the watch is meant to look like the G-Shock watches. I don't know who the watch is made by, as there are no makers marks at all.
