Casio DW-310 LCD watch

Before Casio came out with their G-Shock range, they produced a line if heavy duty watches (normally with a HD logo on). This is one of the models in that line, but is a little different from the others I've seen.

The watch is a DW-310 and was released in 1982. This watch has the tough styling later found in the G-Shocks, as well as a large water resistance rating. My model of DW-310 here has a dive rating of 20 bar (or 200m water depth), however, there are others online which have the same model number, but a 300m rating (as well as the HD symbol which isn't shown here). This particular model also has the Alarm Chrono title engraved on the case which is missing from the other DW-310 pictures I've seen.

It uses a 690 module which has a 2 line LCD display. The top line covers day and date, while the bottom line is the time (with the squashed first digit and smaller seconds). It has dual time, alarm, stopwatch (down to 0.01 sec), and timer modes. Light is provided by a small orange bulb. There is also a button to turn REM on or off, and there is a marker on the LCD for that too. I don't exactly know what that is for, but my guess would be that it means reminder, and is for a chime function.

My watch doesn't have the original strap, but it looks quite good with this velcro type of strap instead.
