When is an LED watch not an LED watch? When it's the watch I'm blogging today.
This watch is called the LED watch by &design, but it doesn't have any LEDs. It is an analogue watch with a 2 hand dial and is called the LED watch because of the shape of the hands are designed to look like the segments of an LED display. The design is very minimalist, with a rectangular face, inset crown, and only a single mark on the face (at the 3 o'clock position). This one had been mistreated by a previous owner and has been fixed by me, so the hands are a bit more bent than they would normally be.
The &design company was launched n Japan in 2005 by a pair of product design and interface design professionals. They have released all manner of products including 4 different watches (with the icon watch probably being the most well known).
This model came in 4 colours (black, white, pink, and green). It has a quartz movement powered by a SR626SW battery. The watch is manufactured by Idea International Co., Ltd who are a Japanese production company directly supporting the designers to help them get their products made.
